Adiabatic Charge Transport and the Kubo Formula for Landau Type Hamiltonians

We study the adiabatic charge transport in a two dimensional Landau model perturbed by a bounded potential at zero temperature. It is proved that if the Fermi level falls in a spectral gap then in the adiabatic limit the accumulated excess Hall transport is correctly described by the linear response Kubo-Štreda formula. Corrections to the leading term are given in an asymptotic series for the H...

Adiabatic Charge Transport and the Kubo Formula for 2d Hall Conductance

We study adiabatic charge transport in a two dimensional lattice model of electron gas at zero temperature. It is proved that if the Fermi level falls in the localization regime then, for a slowly varied weak electric field, in the adiabatic limit the accumulated excess Hall transport is correctly described by the linear response Kubo-Štreda formula. Corrections to the leading term are given in...

Adiabatic theorems for linear and nonlinear Hamiltonians

Conditions for the validity of the quantum adiabatic approximation are analyzed. For the case of linear Hamiltonians, a simple and general sufficient condition is derived, which is valid for arbitrary spectra and any kind of time variation. It is shown that in some cases the found condition is necessary and sufficient. The adiabatic theorem is generalized for the case of nonlinear Hamiltonians....

An Adiabatic Theorem for Singularly Perturbed Hamiltonians

The adiabatic approximation in quantum mechanics is considered in the case where the self-adjoint hamiltonian H0(t), satisfying the usual spectral gap assumption in this context, is perturbed by a term of the form εH1(t). Here ε → 0 is the adiabaticity parameter and H1(t) is a self-adjoint operator defined on a smaller domain than the domain of H0(t). Thus the total hamiltonian H0(t) + εH1(t) d...
